Lucas Wolf is a self taught Canadian born (1969) contemporary artist best known for his bold minimalist, often monochromatic, abstract paintings. His process involves the deconstruction and active examination of underlying truths. His raw unencumbered work often referencing the movement and shadows of his narratives. A meditation on gesture, symbol, beauty and impermanence.
Professionally active since 1984 he has predominantly shown his work though solo exhibitions out of his own studios in Norway, Italy, Japan, and Canada and curated gallery shows. He currently resides on Saltspring Island off the west coast of Canada and is primarily focussed on commission work.
His work can be found in collections in Europe, North America, and Asia.
